Yeah. That’s bad on me. I’ll own it. I’m comfortable in my skin. And I’m in coach. I’m flyimg 45 hours in 16 days, all in economy class. Clearly you are a better person than me.

We are flying there first class.....all 6 of us. No way I'm flying coach from MSY to MSP to ANC. Screw that!

How do you know what group I board in? Is that when I fly for business or on vacation?

We can agree on this at least.

We’d best not discuss the seats that turn into beds when we fly overseas.

The only way you board above group 4 is when you sprained your ankle on the way to the airport and have to fly using a wheel chair.

MarcusQuinn will be along shortly to perform a psychological evaluation of you because you just had to mention you paid for first class for 6 people! He has time since he is in the back of the plane anyway and wont be deboarding for a while.

Really? How do you know that?

Sure. There’s a difference between a 6’-7” guy having his knees crushed and an inconvenience. But I’d assume explaining the situation or asking a fight attendant to change seats would be better for both than passive aggressively shoving your knees into the seat for two hours.

I’m punchy and exhausted. Not my best work. Posting to kill time and wondering if I’ll pee in my seat before we land. Enjoy your bragging and judging and doubting.

That us. I'm not flying long distance coach, and it's not that much more flying first for shorter flights.

Someone who is 6’7” deserves to have his knees crushed if he is stupid enough to purchase that seat. Get a bulkhead seat. Problem solved.

BTW, a flight attendant isn’t going to give that premium seat away. United tries to sell them on the flight if they’re still available.

And if I wanted your head in my lap so I could stroke it and whisper sweet nothings to you, I'd have bought you a slice at Sbarro in the terminal first.

Oddly enough, my restless leg syndrome kicks in the instant that tray touches my knees. I'm so sorry. Nothing I can do about it. I wish I could, but I fear that your seat is going to be bumped like that for the next 4 hours. Did I mention it comes and goes in precise ten minute waves so sleep's going to be out of the question? Yeah, I have my phone to remind me when the next twitches are due to start so they don't startle me. So sorry. At least with the constant motion, I don't have to worry about deep vein thrombosis. You should move around the cabin some, too. Wouldn't want you to have a pulmonary embolism at 35,000 feet!

Look on the bright side: you won't be miserable alone. We'll suffer through this together, and at the end of this transcontinental flight, we'll both be stronger for it... or both of our seats will have long assumed the full upright position.

a-hole.
THIS!!!!

Had to take the back row on an overbooked flight from Philadelphia to New Orleans a few days ago. Last row barely tilts back, but the next-to-last row comes down damn near into my lap. Son of a bitch has that thing laid down about 30 seconds after takeoff. Had me pinned down pretty good. But, since I was flying with a hyperactive 9 year old, I swapped seats, gave my kid a video game, and let him commence some of his best seat kicking I've seen.

Coach RT from MSY to ANC was around $800. First class was $1,300 when we booked. Totally worth it, IMO.

On the return we have a non-stop flight from ANC to ATL on a Boeing 767. It has a 2X2X2 configuration in first class. We have all six seats across on the bulkhead.

United... yeah. They also give you a the same cookie on a seven hour flight as they would on a one hour flight. Delta would have given a meal and a snack.

United first class sucked compared to American.
