Push-up Hand Placement Questions

Do you vary it up where you place your hands for push-ups or do you always leave them in the standard position?
i.e. If you want to work your chest more put your hands out super wide or if you want to work on your shoulders you place your hands at head level.
Also, is it worth varying it up. I know a few people who will do and I'm not sure if varying it up helps or just sticking with one position would work better when doing a single workout

Yes I know but I'm sitting here drinking by myself about to go out to the bar and I feel like being social in my Questions damnit.

Start with hands close together and work my way out. Works triceps at beginning then involves more chest.

Yes, mix it up. Do diamonds for triceps.

Standard position: middle of hand in line with nipples and turned in slightly. Elbows should go back at 45 degree angle. Pull yourself down as if you were rowing

I keep mine in standard position mostly. To add difficulty I will elevate feet, raise one foot off the ground, do dive bomber pushups, or wear a weighted backpack. You can find tons of great pushup variations on the internet.

First you get it good and solid.
Then you take a nice hot towel and hold it down.
Resistance is the key!

I hold the stick with my right hand.
