In the history of handouts, could you ever purchase boiled crawfish with an EBT card?

Edt:Outside state of emergency.

See 2016 Baton Rouge Floods.

I couldn't go in Tony's for months.

Yes and No

You can buy live crawfish and then they could "cook them for free" after they were paid for.

You can purchase lobster and $20/lb steaks. I’m assuming crawfish is as much as a necessity as that.

Can't you just step outside your trailer and grab a few out of the ditch?

It constantly amazes me the amount of things that are EBT eligible. Including steak, lobster, crab, soda, cheesecake...these people are eating better than 90% of the population of LA.

It can definitely be done. Seafood places in Houma love EBT, they get their money immediately and don’t have to pay a transaction fee like you do with a normal credit card.

Local seafood place almost never has live crawfish. Owner makes all his money selling 5lbs at a time boiled

I’ve been to run down shotgun houses that didn’t have running water and there was piles of heads outside the door with other garbage. Crawfish were well over $2 a lb at the time. I knew exactly how these people were getting them

So under our brilliant system, you can purchase uncooked lobster but not a plate of cooked red beans?

Only foods that are listed in the government's own food pyramid should be allowed to be received.

Same here. Reason I'm asking.

I know ppl at seafood places ring up cooked food under something else but can it be legally done within the system?

For example cooked rotisserie chickens was a big deal here a few years back. These could be purchased with EBT cards a few years back but no longer can not. Complete BS because a $6 chicken can feed a family unlike uncooked $20, lobster.

I used to work with a shitbag white trash worthless fricker who had food stamps. He had the nerve to bitch to me one day about how food stamps could only be used to buy crawfish boiled/live (I don’t remember which it was) and that wasn’t how he liked them.

There aren’t many people I’ve met that I legitimately hate, but I wouldn’t hit him with a wet chain if he was on fire. I ate a sandwich for lunch every day and his fat sloppy wife was always bringing him some form of purchased meal every day.
