The interesting thing is that Walker Town Hall and City Departments are normally closed on Fridays. So he/she/they have use of it until Wed of next week since I think they’re closed Monday and Tuesday for the Holiday. What are the odds whomever is using it isn’t using their own gas?

You’re a nosy frick. But, FYI and FWIW, the City of Walker’s gas plant extends far outside its city limits. I’m like 15 miles from there, and we still buy our home’s natural gas from Walker.

He or she is not putting their own gas. I would not. I used to burn probaly three tanks a week roaming around. It was great. Never had trouble getting fuel during the gas shortages. Installed dual tanks so I could go a while without refueling.

1.) How long have you worked with Jody for the Town of Walker?
2.) You’re correct. The City Of Walker has the 2nd largest gas line system of any municipality in the State, stretching into Denham, Live Oak and St. Helena Parish in one direction.
3.) The City Of Walker’s gas line system doesn’t even come close to Lafourche.

I saw the truck from the street as it was parked in a driveway adjacent to the street. It was plainly visible even with out my glasses.

I was just asking after seeing all the other stories about employees abusing taxpayers money (state police, New Orleans officials, etc). Also, this truck wasn’t a small pickup truck. It had dual rear wheels truck. So it took some serious fuel to get it here.

As far as distance, it is about 120 miles from Walker.

Could be a legit reason the vehicle is parked there. I've worked in the public sector in the past. If you live in parish A but work in parish B, there are times when you can get approval for overnight storage of a work vehicle at your home in parish A. For example, let's say you have job related training in parish C, which is closer to your home in parish A than parish B, it makes sense to park your work vehicle overnight in your home parish A then driving all the way to parish B just to pick it up. This happened a pretty good bit at the program I worked for. You just had to fill out the proper paper work and get it signed by a supervisor for approval.

Who cares? So you have no idea why he’s there and you want to call the city, congrats on being a horrible human being. Grow the frick up, ruining some guy’s career when you have no idea why the truck is there is the kind of move some dumbass 14 year old would want to do. Far too many people these days think it’s acceptable to cost someone their job and that is pretty scary, fricking with someone’s livelihood should be off limits. Just mind your own business and if he really is doing something he shouldn’t it’ll catch up to him one day.

Back when I worked in the public sector we had somebody call in and complain about two of our employees laughing while driving in a work truck. Somebody seriously considered that misuse of public funds. We received numerous complaints about employees in work vehicle eating at restaurants. I guess they thought civil servants shouldn't get lunch breaks. I suppose there are just some pretty miserable people out there.

Do the right thing and let the city of Walker know. If it's legit use of their property they'll tell you. If not, they'll thank you.

Ignore the fricks who are going down on you. They're probably all "public servants," too.

If it really bothers you that much why not see if this is something that goes on for a while. There's probably a chance it's legitimate. Just give it a couple of weeks to see if it continues and if not then no problem. If this continues and it still bothers you then call it in. Just don't question it over 1 day. If I were the guy and it was legitimate I'd have a few words with you for nosing in after a day. Merry Christmas!

I'm pretty sure the entire Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department lives on the Northshore.

It probably has a GPS unit on it anyway, if the dude is abusing it, it'll catch up to him.

You're probably right. Lots of municipalities are going to this anyway.

If you mean 4 wheels on 1 axle its called a dually. If you mean 2 tires on the back means it doesnt have a flat with no spare.

What is serious fuel?
