I’ve worn jeans or pants for probably 95% of my life from 6 to 40 years old and have never once thought about other men wearing shorts public.
The only correct reason to judge clothing is high waisted anything on women and men who only tuck their shirt in in the area over their belt buckle.

I will agree that grown men shouldn’t wear shorts after 6pm, or anything remotely bordering on “formal” or “nice”
