re: Psychology of People Who Don't Have Tattoos

I used to love working out and enjoyed seeing my muscles get bigger and more defined. In my mind I thought, why would I get a tattoo that hides the definition of your muscles? If you want to change something about yourself why not just get bigger muscles? Later on, I felt that it affected the symmetry of your body to a point where you would need to get two just to be balanced.

so I'll get tatted up like every other person to show how much more different I am than they are?

If others want to get inked that's their decision, it never appealed to me.

I held out pretty late, 40ish years old, and I wish I hadn't ever gotten one.

Its becoming an epidemic how many otherwise cute chicks I see these days with randomly placed chicken scratch tattoos. Literally looks like a toddler grabbed a marker and doodled all over their bodies and it makes them look a bit stupid IMO.
To each their own, but I totally do not get it.

Tattoos = attention seekers and/or people that make knee jerk reactions or emotional decisions.
Do you, just don’t expect me to hire you.

this, the gym that I go to has several girls, actually more than several, pretty, work out hard, great bodies but they look look a railroad freight car or over pass that's been repeatedly, randomly tagged(in the graffiti sense,) it just looks stupid

This and of all my friends with tats only maybe 5% of them show em to you like the first 10 seconds of that video. At least my friends. Only one will show you each new one he gets. Not gonna lie. I think his ink is pretty cool. Just not for me.
And all this too. Its probably the worst.

How little do you earn that the thought of paining for a tattoo is going to break you?

In my next career, I’d like to be a tattoo artist

Only one in my family with zero tattoos. I always thought they were trashy.

and it's ironic that a lot of, if not most people I see like that work menial, low paying jobs, probably striking Starbuck's, crying about wages, but they can body art up, and of course, have the latest iPhone

I assume when people have tattoos (especially women) but also men with too many or on face, etc. That they are straight up crazy. Anyone with their full bodies covered in them just look like they need a shower.

It never ceases to amaze me everyone's obsession with tattoos on this board. It's old and tired. Live and let live. It's also odd that so many on this board are as anti-tattoo as they are. There's worse shite in the world to be against.

One minor tattoo obviously NBD.
But the larger the surface area seems to add to the trashy/freak factor especially as you add piercings.

Bro, it’s a bunch of old gen xers and boomers. They hate everything that isn’t football, beer, boobs, travel ball, fishing shirts, and casual racism
