Man if you have little kids that don’t quite understand Santa & the “magic” yet, don’t buy that frickin elf. It will more than likely be how your kids figure out that Santa doesn’t exist. There’s so many rules & everybody has different ones. The elf moves every night, the elf only moves if you’re bad and has to leave to tell Santa, some families have 1 elf, some have 1 per kid, why tf is there a “classroom elf”?, why TF does walkons have one swinging from the ceiling that the waitress keeps smacking every time she walks by it ? DAMMIT!
So PSA: it’s easier to make up 1 nice little white lie as to why Little Billy has an elf and your kid doesn’t than making up 17 rules & 23 lies about it. Leave that little fricker on the shelf…at WalMart

Ingenious marketing idea though

I tend to agree with you but at the end of the day, my kids love it. The first thing they do when they wake up is go looking for the elf and that makes my heart smile. It’s worth the hassle.

Oh I agree with that for sure. Just hate the damage control. My kid came home today asking if adults can touch the elf. I said no. Well my teacher picked ours off the floor today and said it was fine cause she’s an adult. Uhhhhhhhhhh…. Lol

You are wanting to discuss the topic of “ elf on the shelf.” You state that this is something that should not be done in households as there are many “ rules” associated with said elf. You only want to lie to your kid once instead of all the time. You are unsure why elf
Is at local restaurant. You lastly would like us to not purchase elf at Walmart.

You like idea of making money off “elf on a shelf”

You shoulda seen the look on her face when the walkons waitress popped the lil fricker as she was walking by. “Oh it’s ok, that’s a fake elf”

Yes. Just cause your invention causes me stress doesn’t mean I’m not still a capitalist. frickin commie. I don’t wanna “discuss” it. I was just warning people that it’s a tight rope when they get in that 6-8yo range.

Neither me nor my kids ever wanted that little rat hanging around and informing on them to Santa.

I agree with everything….. with that said, we have an elf for each kid and the elves go see Santa when they are good. That’s why they are in a different spot in the morning. If they are bad the elves stay in same spot.

until somebody else fricks it up for ya & you playing defense lol. No granted, I make up some bullshite & she moves on 5 minutes later. But my 10 year old figured it all out this year (it’s time) because, and I quote “look at that thing, it doesn’t even have hands & his eyes never move. Be straight with me…he ain’t flying all around the house is he?”

Buddy of mine does just the opposite. Elf stays put unless they’re bad. So he basically doesn’t have to frick with the thing the whole time. Meanwhile, I got flour all over my counter & toothpaste all over the mirrors cause my wife watches social media videos

Bah, humbug!!! Lol

We have one elf for two Kids and the fricker moves at night (most of the time)

Childhood friend of mine had their elf draw nuts on the chin of a portrait of their son. Even with an arrow pointed to it with "DEEZ".

C'mon man, its fun.

Cause we got it when it was new & at its peak. And we ran with it with no thought of the repercussions lol

This is all we do. It’s mostly trying to explain why ours does this and friends ones do that. Or why her teacher says “I can touch it. Imma grown up” lol
