PSA - Don't show up drunk when you go to pick up your friend for a DUI arrest

Once saw a guy show up absolutely hammered to his dui hearing at 8am. Judge threw him right in the slammer.

In college, a buddy was climbing into his drivers seat in the bar parking lot and a cop stopped him and said "If you drive, you'll get a DUI. Walk or get someone to pick you up". Pretty cool thing of the cop to do, honestly.
He got our other buddy to come pick him up. Told him the cop was waiting with him. Other buddy was drunk as piss and got a DUI. He knew the cop was there and still drove

Similar shite happened to me in NOLA around 1984.
I had a drunk girlfriend call me to come help her as she hit a pothole and disabled the car. Problem was, I had been home for 2 hours home sleeping but had been partying hard earlier and also had taken some NyQuil to sleep.
Well I show upon on West End Blvd to help her and a cop rolls up and the cop tested me and I went to Tulane and Broad and the cop let the girl go home.
FML that night

Pretty sure there was a poster on here who got a DUI when he showed up to pick up his car from impound the next morning.

One time in school I was riding home from a bar with a girl. She was driving and I was a passenger. We had both had a few drinks but we're not drunk. Cop pulls us over. She blew well under the legal limit but the law stated anyone under 21 who blows anything gets a DUI. She was 20 and I was 21 or 22. The cop cuffed her and put her in the backseat of his cruiser. He told me I could drive her car home if I blew under the legal limit. My breathalyzer was higher than hers but because she was a year younger, she went to jail and I drove her car home.
