After watching the result of other "protests" from around the county, I have to give credit where credit is due. You handled yourselves well and kept things from getting out of hand. Plus, you got DeRay!

I bet his arse is "free" as we speak...no charge for whoever wants a piece of it in EBRPP

Deray came to BR with the intention of getting arrested. They gave him exactly what he wanted. Documented street cred is precisely what he craves.

Yeah that obstructing the highway charge is straight OG

.@BRPD says officer had several teeth knocked out, eight firearms confiscated during protests. Faults out-of-town protesters for violence.

Compare that with the rest of the country and I'd say we made out ok

He doesn't want more of a serious charge than that.
He has political aspirations so something like that is a perfect combo. He goes to jail but on a minor charge the future political opponents can't hold over his head during an election.

He has already failed politically. If his platform failed before I find it hard to believe this will benefit him enough to gain an elected position. Then again, blacks seem to value civil disobedience above a lot of things you or I do.

Hopefully they tack on inciting a riot and resisting or something

He's only 32. He's got a long time to formulate a political path. A failed mayoral run doesn't mean much at this point.

The unspoken truth of the black community is they hate gays. He's gay. The problem with this group is they can't even get along with the people involved, let alone get them to decide he is a good option for political office. Regardless, I'm glad BRPD could oblige his want for street cred
