Please forgive this naive question. Our only two homes have used natural gas for heat and stove. By contrast, we're seeing some for-sale home listings for homes that, apparently, use propane. How does that work? And is it any worse than natural gas in any way? Thank you.

The same as natural gas. Except you’ll have a large tank outside that needs to be filled every so often depending on how much propane you use.

It burns better meaning cleaner. It's very volatile which gets me nervous. You have
to have a tank on your property with the capacity to hold a lot.

It’s a little more expensive per btu than nat gas and you have to have the tank refilled periodically.

If you end up getting the house and own the tank, make sure you shop around for a price per gallon. There can be a big price difference between companies.

If the propane company owns the tank and you're just leasing it, try to see if you can buy it or you are stuck with whatever price they want to charge you.

Actually, you have less problems with the cleaner burning propane.
