I'm not surprised. Good schools, good infrastructure, and good public works require funding and at a local level that means taxes.

It is well known that the best places to live are generally higher tax jurisdictions. That is not to say more tax is always good but you must adequately fund public goods to have a desirable place to live.

And consumption taxes are the worst, most regressive form of taxation possible. But the geniuses on TD are OBSESSED with muh No InCoMe TaX.

You do realize that part of your property taxes fund things like....the water department. What does the water department do?
