Probability Question

If 2 people are in line at subway, what is the probability that they both order the same type of sandwich? Assume neither person knows what the other is ordering.
Each sandwich buyer chooses type of bread, length (6 or 12"), type of meat, cheese, vegetables, condiments, and toasted/not toasted.
Post your guesses here

List all variables and I will calculate it for you.

There are probably a few different ways to figure this out.
288

not enough information.
How many types of bread are there?
How many types of meat are there?
How many types of cheese are there?
How many types of vegetables are there?
How many types of condiments are there?

Also knowing the frequency with which each type of sandwich is ordered would allow for a more precise probability.

I don't eat enough Subway to know how many different types of bread, meat, cheese, etc. there are. Need more info.
Unless this is just a random guess thread, then one in a million.

1/# of choices of bread x # of choices for meat X # of choices of cheese X # of choices of vegetables X # of choices of condiments x 2 for bread length x 2 for toasted or not toasted.

100% chance they both get a shitty sandwich though.

I ran a permutation on this in excel and came to approximately 288.

They may order the same type of sandwich but cannot order the exact same sandwich.

I don't have the answer, since every subway is different anyway. Use your own variables and post what you think it is.
