I know we aren't getting any credits, but I'm taking advantage of what little I can by taking my kids over to the public school that is giving out free breakfast and lunches to the kids.

And with my two teens not buying all the junk food and drinks they usually buy at school, I'm saving a little bit.

My 3rd graded has online work to do but we get it done by lunch and then they have recess all afternoon.

They should realize that the school day is too long and not necessary.

It's almost like teaching one third grader is easier than teaching 25.

So are they teaching something 25 times because there are 25 kids?

Did you pass third grade?

It's much easier to explain something to one person than it is to multiple people - especially children.

They’re giving my son homework and tests over the internet. It’s make shift and not nearly worth what we pay for. Whatever.

I’m paying daycare x 2 and I have to find someone to watch them all day. No refunds being issued.

No tuition credit. Teachers are still working recording videos for remote learning.

Kids aren’t really missing any school.

My corgi’s play date shut down on Wednesday. I reup’d and bought a 3 month package in February. Hopefully we’ll be credited when they open back up—would hate to lose that $1000

My squid is in private school here in Texas but most privates around here are annual or at least semi-annual payments. Mine is paid up front the April/May prior to the next school year (if already enrolled).

Just to be clear, LA has a lot of schools that are month to month contracts? Am I reading all of the responses correctly?

It’s annual but they break it up by month to make it easier on families

Thanks. Learned something today. I guess it's not uncommon thinking about it. A lot around here want it all locked in just in case someone bolts mid-year and they have to scramble to fill that seat. So they say...

I understand not getting tuition back and the need to pay the teachers since they are still sending out lessons, homework, and communicating with the families and students.

With that being said, I hope we are getting the after school care back for the months we aren’t using it since we paid that up front for the year while some people go month to month.
