Prince story:
He was on a flight from LA back to Minneapolis sitting in the first class section. The then undiscovered Bangles were on the same flight in coach. Susannah Hoffs who is a huge Prince fan sneaks into first class to tell Prince what a big fan she is and that her and her band hope to have a fraction of his success and how much his music influences them. Prince says thank you and wishes her look she is then escorted back to coach. Prince then begins scribbling on a cocktail napkin over the next 15 minutes. He calls the stewardess over and asks her to take this to the young lady he had been talking with. She delivers the napkin and when Hoffs opens it it says here is a song I wrote for you to put on your album. It was the lyrics to Manic Monday. It also included Prince's phone # and said call me this weekend and I'll give you the music to go with it.

Prince did write Manic Monday, but none of the rest of that is true to my knowledge. He had already been familiar with the Bangles first album, and had written the song a few years prior for Appolonia 6. Prince contacted them when they were working on their next album and Manic Monday came up.

That story about Manic Monday is not true. He wrote the song for Appolonio 6 but pulled it from their album
