It's 99 dollars and that goes towards getting a insurance license which is costs more than 99 dollars. And yes, youre not gonna make any money if you don't do any work. It's a good opportunity for someone who is willing to work and remove themselves from their comfort zone a tad. You can build a business and change your life if you have the drive to do so.

Something like 30-50% of people who pay don't even take the insurance test. You're kidding yourself if you don't believe they make a ton of money on those fees.

There isn't a reputable financial firm in the country that makes you pay to join.

I can't help it. My dad has been working for Primerica for 35 years. I was basically born in the office.

Sounds like your dad is a poor financial advisor if he's been working for 35 years and hasn't retired.

I got hit up at a gas pump by a Primerica rep while his about 10 year old son stood there. It was awkward.

Yea, well that's because it's the truth. You don't have a boss. The effort you put forth will translate to your success or failure. You mentioned hearing the same B.S. about not listening to the guy who signed about and quit shortly thereafter. What do you expect us to say? Listen to the guy who tried it out for a month and didn't do any business because he wasn't willing to do the work? Of course we're not gonna agree with those people because we know the truth. As far as having our pitch practiced and hearing the same things from different people go, yes, we are a very connected company. In meetings we often watch videos and learn how to overcome objections. It's part of the business. You're not gonna have any success if you give up after someone tells you, "well my buddy from work told me he tried and didn't make any money". You have to learn to properly convey the opportunity to people. It doesn't come naturally for most. Yes, we share with each other what we say to our clients so we know what works and what to do when met with comments like Primerica is a scam, a pyramid scheme, etc....

Primerica is a MLM company. That's not debatable.

Primerica has the worst marketing team on the planet considering all of the bad things you hear about it...seriously, I think they use the same PR firm as Scientology and Baton Rouge tourism

How does it feel to work for the "Dollar General" of financial services? Kinda shitty I bet. I run and own my independent firm. I have no boss and I do ok since I can sell. I just don't require plebes beneath me to get me where I am.

And one other thing, when your business is more about getting people to work under you than it is about helping your clients, I have a real problem with that.

Bingo.

I guess I'm lucky in that I quit getting those calls or emails from former co-workers or friends wanting me to go meet for coffee so I could hear how they could help me make money.
That ended around when I turned 30.

Well primerica doesn't advertise. They guy who started the company thought the best form of advertising was word of mouth. So we rely on satisfied clients to tell their family and friends. Apparently the common stigma associated with Primerica is that it's a scam or a pyramid scheme. Maybe we should advertise or look to alternate methods to clean up our rep. This thread is proof that obviously we don't have the best reputation. I can tell that none of you are clients, because the vast majority of the clients in our base shop are happy customers. I can tell y'all this though. We are openly traded on the New York stock exchange, have an AM Best superior rating of A+ (Highest rating), and were given an AAA (also the highest) rating by Standard and Poor's rating service which rates the financial stability of Insurance companies. We obviously get some bad press but the experts agree that we are a strong and stable company that does what's right for our clients.
