It went off. Phone was on vibrate, it vibrated. I hit button to stop vibration, it stopped. Unlocked phone like normal.
Yawn.
About 30 seconds later, one of our paraprofessionals walks into my office, all upset, asking me if I got a presidential alert and wondering what was going on.
I looked at her and said, they have been talking about this on the news for weeks and it was postponed once. How did you not know about this??
She said, I never heard about it, but the only news I listen to is NPR.
Yawn.

These presidential alerts remind me of something from an awful SciFi channel movie set in year 2229 but produced in 1989, where a near by galaxy are attacking us and our obese, orange, one eyed, emperor wants to warn his people.

In my office building all the people with AT&T got the alert. Verizon account holders did not. Hmmmm

I will be honest, I jumped when the alert came on. It seems like no matter what. I can be expecting it or not, anytime any type of alarm comes on I scares the shite out of me.

It was totally underwhelming.
I went to the end of D where all the Spirit and Frontier flights are. I can confirm that Boost Mobile and Cricket phones did in fact get the alert. Unfortunately it was so staggered that it took about a minute for all the phones to get it and no one was really surprised. Just a lot of people with dumb looks on their faces.
