Guys …
Content specific praxis and the PLT which is like teaching theory/methods etc you still have to take. The one they did away with is basically like a ACT, a lot of people exempted it anyway bc of their ACT scores. This shouldn’t be a issue for college graduates one bit

A lot of people can't pass, which does that say more for the content taught in High School, College or the individual taking it?

This is why we do need the teachers union. If there is any type of allegation founded or not from an entitled parent Or student we have automatic lawyers fees covered.

Of course you will have teachers leaving in droves because why work in a profession where you are are doing more work, yet still getting blamed on student scores and behavior, while dealing with entitled parents
Yeah, they’ve been leaving in droves for many years, mostly for the reasons you listed.
Let’s not forget the absolute ridiculousness of the NIET rubric. It’s no more objective as an observation tool than previous methods, not to mention that it’s literally impossible to hit all of those targets. I could teach the same lesson for three different observers and have VERY different scores, which is the opposite of what a rubric is designed to do. Hell, those doing observations can barely watch the lesson. They’re just madly scribbling notes the whole time.

Does it determine if you know the subject matter you are going to teach
This.
I didn’t have to take the praxis I but I took the praxis 2 for middle school math & also for library media specialist - if you can’t pass the praxis 2 in the subject area then you shouldn’t be able to teach it IMO
