Tick EXXON off, which is a major donor and then announce budget cuts.

They're not related. At all.

The EBRP school board would be running a deficit if ALL ITEP exemptions were eliminated.

Let that sink in for a moment. They're wholly unable to manage their own finances. The Exxon ITEP ordeal was just windowdressing.

Will be interesting to see how the Zachary schools fare with the plant closures. Less tax money coming in and potentially fewer children in school. Maybe a few families moving too so less property taxes.

You don't suddenly have a 21.3m deficit in budget. Truth of it is that it has been growing for quite sometime, and basically got to big to hide it anymore.
In typical liberal fashion instead of addressing the problem and fixing it, let's just make other people pay for it to go away in the form of taxes(ITEP). It wouldn't matter how much money was given to the school board they would always be in the red.

BTR is turning into a huge shithole at record pace.

That ordeal was the lack of somebody in the background who's been around long enough to say, "uh, hunny...Exxon basically built Baton Rouge so let's not insult them by nickeling and diming them."

Too late now. Maybe Chaunna Banks can ask her church to donate.

They spend a whole lot of $$ on these charter school contracts.....

They aren’t spending any more on those kids than they are on them in public schools. They just spend the dollars per kid elsewhere. Realistically, if they are educating less kids at said public school, it should cost less money to educate the ones that are left.
