Flight from SLC to MSY got cancelled and now I'm stuck in Mormontown USA at a quality inn with no liquor and everything is closed FML

Daughter’s flight was canceled yesterday and won’t be able to get home until Tuesday, if at all. She lives on the west coast and hasn’t been home for a while. It’s a bummer, but others have it a lot worse and we have so much to be thankful for.

Up in Pennsylvania with the family. Mom recently had an ulcer on her eye that seemingly healed up after two weeks of different eye drops and antibiotics.
Well the first day we arrived her eye was bugging her again. I woke up the next day and took a look at it. It was a much larger ulcer in the same spot. Didn’t want to take any chances(potential vision loss) so today I took her to a walk in clinic. Waited there for two hours for the doctor to say we needed to go to ER because they weren’t comfortable just giving her medicine. They said we needed to see the eye doctor at the emergency room.
So I put mom in the car and drove 30 minutes to the hospital. We walked in and it was empty(nobody waiting). I thought today was our lucky day.
Ended up being 4 hours later when we finally got to leave.
Snow was coming down and I’m in my brothers car trying not to wreck the entire way home.
Now I’m giving her eye drops every hour for the next 30 hours until we go back to that same hospital and see a cornea specialist on Monday.
So I’m going to sleep sometime after niece and nephew open their presents. Dad or brother will have to do the drops for awhile.
I feel terrible that she’s having to deal with it so I’m just pushing thru the sleepiness.
Hopefully her eye will be much better by Tuesday because that’s when we are heading back south.

My son and his 3 children have the flu and my father in law had surgery to place a rod in his femur because he has cancer in his prostrate that has already spread to his bones. He just got back home from the hospital but our Christmas plans are totally shot. We will regroup hopefully in a couple of days. Merry Christmas!

On a serious note, hoping those of you that are sick or have sick family members, all have a speedy recovery.
With regards to those stuck at work, thank you.
For those with logistical issues at home (frozen pipes, missed flights, etc.), I hope tomorrow is better.
Finally, if you are really having a tough time during the holidays, I recommend you immediately go find an ex on Facebook and send a friend request, like an old photo, or send a cryptic message.
Do something to cause some tension in their day tomorrow to balance things out. Yin/Yang.
