Thanks to my Grandma for the Dodge Aries. I thought I was the man when I got a nice tape deck put in this.

Was that the one where the windows only rolled halfway down? I think the Chrysler K-Car was like that.

I think you're right. I can't remember the exact year I had, but I remember everyone called it a K car. It was time to get something new when I was rolling around the D.C. beltway underage with a keg and it almost fell out on the freeway due to a rusted out trunk.

Yeah. I had a buddy who drove his mom's K Car and I remember one of the things about it was the Windows only rolled down halfway. Never understood why they made it that way.

Those K cars were everywhere back then. Lee Iacocca sold the govt on those things and every govt agency had them.

Oh yeah. I remember. Chrysler was on the verge of bankruptcy and then they came out with the K Car and the government basically bailed them out by buying a ton of them. When I enlisted in 1988 you'd still see them all over the place at army bases being driven as official vehicles. In fact, my recruiter drove me in a K Car to the MEPS station in down Montgomery where I was processed into the army.
