JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Census Bureau says Mississippi joined eight other states and Puerto Rico in losing population from July 2017 to July 2018.

A report released Wednesday estimates that Mississippi, with a population of nearly 3 million, was down by 3,122 residents.

Puerto Rico was hit hard by Hurricane Maria in September 2017 and lost 129,848 people during the year ending this July.

The states with the largest decline in population were in New York, down 48,510; Illinois, down 45,116; West Virginia, down 11,216; and Louisiana, down 10,840.

Other states losing population were Hawaii, down 3,712 residents; Alaska, down 2,348; Connecticut, down 1,215; and Wyoming, down 1,197.

A government subsidized entity isn’t working properly? Shocking!!

I had a package shipped via FedEx who then passed it over to the USPS. It said it was hand delivered and it wasn’t. We went in to find out where it was and the guy told us the USPS can only contractually accept a limited amount of packages at a time from FedEx. To get around this, the USPS just enters it in the system as delivered so they can get more packagers. He said to wait 1-2 days and it will show up. Sure enough, it showed up the next day. I thought that would be considered fraud but it sounds like FedEx and the USPS don’t really care.

You could probably see a direct correlation in LA’s decline and TX’s population increase.

A lot of rural post offices don’t deliver at all, you have to get a PO Box. We have one near our ranch in Realitos, TX that is only open 3 days a week from 8-noon.

Do what i do.

Order on Amazon. Refuse to pick it up. The issue a refund and semd out another one.

Eventually they will stop using the USPS.
