Caesar was just Julius Caesar's last name. It wasn't a word, it didn't mean anything before him. He was so great a ruler that following rulers just named themselves after him. Even in other empires, German Kaiser and Russian Czar come from Caesar. To this day US executive branch appoints "Czars". So 2000 years later we're still just naming rulers after this one guy.

Desert conditions don't allow the chili pepper fruit to create hardy enough seeds to survive a mammal digestive system. Other fruits generally rely on mammals passing the seeds. However the pepper seeds CAN survive a bird's simple digestive system. And birds aren't affected and repelled by the spiciness, unlike mammals. That's why peppers are spicy. But we humans are the only mammals dumb enough to enjoy the pain.
