Oktoberfest in New Orleans is one of my old man yells at cloud events. It’s fine in its current form. It was absolute magic in the old location on galvez before they destroyed the neighborhoods for the new hospitals. The building was historic and intimate. People were absolutely hammered. And the music was less big stage and more fun and games.

Absolutely the old location was so cool and historic. A great hang out. But seemed like the neighborhood was getting bad too. If I lived over there or was there more often I’d love to join and hang out more.

We went last weekend and it was great. Wasn’t too expensive, not too loud, very family friendly, and no trashballs. Would recommend.

Edit: there were a few trashy chicks wearing revealing attire, but I love trashy chicks so I’ll allow it.

Oktoberfest and Greek Fest are the two best lowkey annual fests in NOLA.

Da faq? Nola does it Oktoberfest whenever wants?
Germany started taking down its tents two weeks ago.

Its too hot and peak Hurricane season to do it during September. So they do it 3 weeks in October. I would assume that would make sense.

What is going on in New Orleans that doesn’t happen in Houston?

I don’t like the location and they have a cover charge. It was better when it was at River Town

Agreed, everyone should get out there. And it should be true Oktoberfest weather this weekend.

The location is great and "cover charge" is why its a great event and not...what a lot of festivals in NOLA become

When we were standing in line to get in almost everyone had a drink in hand and they weren’t forced to throw them out prior to entering. It was nice to be in a reasonable, high-trust setting for a change.

Just had our annual Rougarou Festival this weekend in Houma, people from all over ( Germany) in town, its steadily growing. There's a courtyard Marriott on the property which makes it nice for out of towners
