Your counter arguments are very weak. I mentioned Miami because it’s a place full of expensive cars, and usually the people driving them can’t afford the lifestyle. Often they end up going belly up.
I just think Highland Park is a nice suburb, but saying a 911 is the 3-series of the area is bullshite.
And as far as an inferiority complex goes...I laugh at myself all the time for spending a lot of money to live in an apartment. I feel like I’m pretty aware of where I am in life...but that doesn’t stop me from calling out idiotic statements like yours.
For the record, it would be infinitely cheaper for me to live where you do than for you to live where I do.

Highland park isn't a suburb

Then use “town outside of Dallas”. Whatever floats your boat.

Honestly- it’s about as classic as it gets. If you’re hating on this car, I sense I sign of jealousy.

I'll never have the money (you know they're $350k+++), but maybe a stock high mileage 964...one day, or at least I can dream.

While I really, really like the singers, I don’t like the RWBs.

Yea, those piss me off. Leave the damn thing alone if you're going to do that...or do it a 240z.

Im kicking myself for selling my 1980 911 SC back in 1998. Damn thing is worth a fortune now. It would have been nice with the Singer updates.
Just like this

Wel I mean the singers are highly modified too. Just A LOT less gawdy than the RWBs (or rocket bunny anything else).

Any car that has been around that long basically unchanged is, by defenition, a classic design.

There's probably 10lbs of original Porsche in a Singer.

The 911 is just a sublime car, almost ever iteration, even the 996 is still a good drivers cars in most respects but it was the nadir of 911s.
The early versions were oversteery or should I say overscary but aside from the Turbos were/are still excellent track cars.
The 997 and 991 chassis are simply some of the best in the world and the Ring times show how good they are and the GT2 RS is a track god. When you are 10 seconds faster than a 918 and 5 seconds faster than a Huracan Performante you have definately done something right.
They are quite simply the best daily driver super cars you can buy. A Turbo S is faster to 60 on the street than just about any car you will ever encounter (save a Telsa) and is perfectly comfortable in bumper to bumper traffic, interstate cruising, back road barnstorming or balls out track days. The average cost running about $210k is a hurdle for most people though. The good thing about Porsches is repair/maintenance is not bad at all considering the exotics they can run with.

True...for a Turbo S.
However, a nicely equipped Carrera S (PDK, chrono, exhaust, and a few more performance options) runs around $135k, and is still fast as balls and fun as hell for a daily driver!
Can it hang with a Huracan? No...but it's not far off for $200k less.

This the difference. Your whole post is well said but what is unique about a Porsche is solid reliability vs. world class super car performance. Corvettes, Ferrari's, Lambo's, etc., can give you thrills...even Mustangs Challengers, Camaros...but after driving them an hour or two, redlined, pushing the very limits of their construction... they are all hot, when you park you hear sizzling, smell burning, popping, and cracking from expanding and contracting parts... but a Porsche pulls in the garage like it's been to the corner grocery for a gallon of milk.
I've seen this many times. These cars are engineered so incredibly perfect, they are in their relaxed comfort zone when pushed to the limits and still reliable as the family Camry... in contrast, there's a palpable sense of the toll it takes on all the other hi-performance cars when driven as hard. I've owned several legendary hi-performance sports cars but it wasn't until I finally bought a Porsche that I realized what I'd been missing and that they are simply a superior machine.
