C. When you reach towards the gun?

Life is about choices. If I'm reaching for my gun in a situation where a police officer has confronted me, then I've made a choice for both us.

If he doesn't pull the trigger how do you know he's going to shoot? By your logic we should let him actually shoot the gun before returning fire.

If that's the case then why does the military still have to wait until they are fired upon.

Maybe he's just unloading it for the cop and the only way he knows how to unload it is by shooting it.

This is true as well... I guess he gets one magazine, but if he puts a second magazine in, then he is a threat.

Well frick. I better get a lot better at quick drawing in a triple retention holster ( which im already pretty good at)

let's rephrase the question.

You AND YOUR PARTNER have a suspect prone on the ground. each of you have weapons drawn and trained on the suspect. You each are restraining one arm, neither hand is in a pocket. He has a gun on his person but it is 100% in his pocket.

When do you get to fire? As soon as he twitches? Sorry, I support LEO, but that was not a good shoot in BR.

You don't. That's the point. See my previous post. A choice was made.

How do you know he's going to shoot by just drawing the firearm from his holster?

Because they're on foreign soil and deal with Rules of Engagement... not federal and state laws of the U.S.

Any more absurd questions or will that be all?

Agreed. Basically if I think you thought about moving your hand in that direction, you're dying.

False.

Aqib Talib and Plaxico Burress are two high profile names that say a gun can be fired by simply touching the trigger while its in a waistband/pocket.

You know how you don't get shot? You don't resist a simple arrest.

You know how you don't put the police officers in a situation where they have to think you are going for a weapon? you don't resist a simple arrest.

You know how I've gone 31 years without getting shot by police? I'm not a fricking moron when confronted by police officers.

It's pretty easy not to get shot by police.

The bigger issue, at least IMO, is when do you shoot them if you don't know whether or not they have a gun. That is where it gets dicey.

This should not result in a reasonable person to fear for his life. These guys shot themselves in the leg/foot.

Two cops were wrestling one man. Each was restraining one arm while sitting on top of him. We have multiple videos of the incident. Nowhere have I seen where those police lives were in jeopardy.

All this is true. Those cops still killed that man WITHOUT sufficient provocation, IMHO.

Since NO ONE can really see what was going on with his free right arm, I think you are a piece of work to say something like this

Easy for you to say sitting behind your computer monitor watching videos of the incident.

FIFY to conform with current case law.
