Over the last 2-3 years we have seen what seems to be an increase of increase of police violence against citizens overall, let alone against blacks, but is it truly an increase or an increase of coverage from the media? Lets not get bogged down with that because we will be here all day discussing that. The point I want to get to is the BLM movement and police brutality. There have been multiple deaths of black men by police this year alone. In Chicago, Baltimore and Minnesota most notably. BLM would lead you to believe that it is an all out warfare against blacks in general, but that isn't the case and there is one simple question to ask that proves it. Why haven't the police killed any black doctors, lawyers, nurses, bankers, accountants or any other upstanding black citizens? Why don't me or none of my friends get harassed by cops? The bigger problem to me is that BLM totally ignores the situations that lead up to these police encounters and irresponsibly places the blame on the cops. Furthermore, this outcry only fuels more unaccountable behavior. Why can't everyone have respect for themselves, other people and authority?

I know this is not written very well, but I'm at work and multitasking and lost my train of thought three times.

Cops kill white people too. Making it about race turns people off.

Here's what I posted in the other thread:
It is baffling that people will spend all their time and energy and emotions defending the kid or criticizing the police.

This should be an indictment on the entire culture of ignorance and violence running rampant through these communities. It should be a call to action to parents and the educators to teach children that thug bullshite is no way to live your life and certainly nothing to aspire to. Instead, you defend this kid and his actions and you set up another kid who doesn't know better or who has been directly taught the opposite to end up shot again. Nothing changes because rather than see the situation as fricked up on both sides and use it as an opportunity to learn and grow we are so sick as a country that we put every action of the situation under a microscope and never reach the real issue it should bring up in all of us.

Maybe if police were more violent with all criminals and we locked them up longer they would stop fricking up, but I doubt it. Criminals of all races are stupid and never learn shite.

If there was an easy answer to this question we wouldn't have gone through hundreds of wars, Civil Rights movement, women's rights movement, etc.

Many people (white and black) just want to play the victim card so they can get free stuff. Many times when black people play the victim loud enough they get their wish. That's why they continue to get louder.

Doesn't fit the narrative to stir up chaos and divide people. It's what progressives and the one world government types depend upon. The ends justify the means.

There is blame on all sides, it sounds cliche but until people stop pointing fingers and start looking at how the can change themselves instead of everyone else..Well, that would only be a start.

It's like a relationship..it's damaged, and some are beyond repair.

I think the bigger issue is if BLM put half of that energy into actually doing things to improve the communities producing young black men that have continually put themselves in situations with the potential to be shot by police then they might be taken seriously.

We had a young black toddler shot in a drive by on her porch a few months back and I didn't see them going down and blocking streets until someone came up with some answers. They finally found the 5th suspect this week in Nashville. All 5 were young black males from the neighborhood where the girl was shot.

Because some of us are raised to respect others, abide by the law, and listen to police officers' commands.

Others are raised in a total polarized mindset.

This clown has no idea what he is talking about and all you are doing is justifying the actions of the racists on this site.

He said it was one black man's perspective.

So do black lives only matter to you when they're in agreement?

The reason is because it is largely a class issue, not a race issue. It just so happens that a higher percentage of blacks are of lower socioeconomic status.

This is nothing more than a case of the availability heuristic
