Authorities identified the dead as Stephen Stay, 39, and Katie Stay, 33, and their two boys, ages 4 and 14; and two girls, ages 7 and 9.

quote:

“(He) came to this residence, gathered up the children that were here and awaited the arrival of the parents. Sometime later the victims were shot in this residence, and we now learned that Mr. Haskell was married to a relative of the residents of this home,” Hickman said.

Haskell had demanded to know the whereabouts of his estranged wife, who lives out of state and was not at the home.

A fund was set up for the girl that survived (and also likely saved a few people)

Thanks for that fund link, that young girl Cassidy is a champion

quote:

6 of the 7 family members of the Stay Family were taken from our community in a horrific and violent tragedy on July 9th, 2014.

Stephen & Katie Stay along with 4 of their 5 children were lost in a horrible domestic violence event that left only their 15 year old daughter (Cassidy Stay) fighting for her life. She is currently in critical, but stable condition.

Cassidy not only survived the incident, but heroically after the incident was able to call 911, then give details to 1st reponders that lead to saving the lives of her grandparents and police capturing the suspect minutes later.

Harris County Water Control & Improvement District (Harris County WCID110) Parks & Recreation along with First Responders and many of our community have expressed a concern for Cassidy and the family. The family will have huge funeral expenses, medical expenses and ongoing care expenses for Cassidy (although we do not yet have all the details due to the ongoing investigation)

We are asking if you want to give, please do so here. LINK We will be an "Official" collection organization and will be giving 100% of the donations to the family in care of Cassidy and the family.

Thanks I'm encouraging our church to take a special offer ring for her and give it to that fund.

Chick-fil-A is also setting up a fund for Cassidy Stay. This young girl is amazing-just to see her smile after the tragedy that occurred brings tears to my eyes.
