No, I know that from watching the cops own body cam. The only perspective of this shooting I've seen was from the cop's perspective.
How many times have you seen the video? Because the officers only got to see all of this once and they were thinking about and doing a lot more then analyzing the footage a few times. Also, they weren't just focused on the guy. They were focused on the surrounding environment.

You're not serious, right?
Did you not watch the body cam video of both cops? They shot him when he had his hand behind him. If he's hiding his hand behind him, that's where his weapon would be, otherwise, why hide your hand behind your back? They knew he had nothing in his hand when he got out of the truck. That means if he's reaching behind his back, he's got a weapon in his back and he's trying to pull it out. Once he's down, he's reaching toward his stomach. If the weapon you thought he had was on his back just a second ago, and he's still not got anything in his hand, what threat is coming from him moving his hand down to his stomach where you just shot him?

and you finish him off because he had the audacity to grab his stomach where you just shot him??
I have no problems with culling the heard of these aggressive, authority-resisting wastes of life.

Should have just shot him in the dome. Wouldn't be having this argument.

Yes, you're right. I'm just tired of every single situation being justified by "what ifs". You don't have to sell me on the initial shots, although probable cause for the stop is a little dicey. They shot him because he had his hand behind his back and he may have a gun. Okay, I get it. Once he's on the ground they shot him two more times because now he may have a gun between his shirt and his stomach? They shot him because he isn't complying? FFS, he was gut shot twice and you finish him off because he had the audacity to grab his stomach where you just shot him??
Exactly

so what do you do?
you have a guy that was acting aggressive and erratic towards after multiple warnings that is laying on the ground still moving and seemingly has some capacity
you run up to him and try and cuff him?
let him bleed out till he stops moving?

You have nothing to hide, then comply. Simple. Something tells me you're the type that blames everything on others, tho.
No, he's not. What is your point?
Posted on 7/14/16 at 1:25 pm to slackster
Are you sure he was shot in the stomach? or was he shot in the chest? I sure as hell can't tell from that video. I am sure they have performed an autopsy by know so that information may be out there all ready.

Dude, your entire post history has been a big "what if?" forthe past two weeks. Or did you forgot posting for 12 hours the other day about "what if?" the cops wouldn't have tackled sterling

If you can't figure out whey Salmon and I are questioning your intelligence for the following:

You know all that being able to observe from a distance, not being right there
No amount of explaining will get it to click in your mind. Just downvote and move a long.

the point was your idiotic comment in reply to me telling you that you watched the incident from a distance

As long as he was a credible threat, they were justified to shooting until he complied or stopped moving.
Can we not question how credible the threat really is when he is lying on the ground after being shot twice? You shot him because you thought he could have a gun behind his back. Now he's lying on his back and you shoot him again.
Yes, it happens quickly. Yes, emotions are incredibly high. No, that doesn't excuse every time the police are wrong.

I can't accept that when you're firing shots at point blank range 5+ seconds apart from the initial shots. I can live with the first shots being almost an unconscious decision. Shooting him again, that far apart, is another deal entirely.
Posted on 7/14/16 at 1:28 pm to Darth_Vader
Again, did you pick all of this up on the first time watching? or have you seen the video multiple times. For me, every time I watch the video, I pick up something new. The officers on the other hand don't have that opportunity.

It doesn't matter what you can or can't accept. It matters what the law says.
EDIT: Btw I am not LEO or anything like that, so I don't fully know what the law says is acceptable or not.

You're really wasting your time. He's never going to stop questioning it. People like him are no help to the situation, and they don't even realize it.
