Ohhhhh. The quote you had kind of read like it was audio of a cop in the helicopter saying he was following orders.
Sounded pretty clear to me

Was the window up? Has that been confirmed? What I've seen, its hard to tell.

Has it been confirmed that he wasn't asked to retrieve his information from his vehicle? I asked earlier, but nobody knew. Is there any audio from this incident anywhere yet?

the fact that PCP was found in the car tells all you need to know

I cannot wrap my head around being a normal person and having 4 guns pointed at me.
When I was 18 I was Goth. I went with a buddy to visit his girlfriend. She was supposed to be hooking me up with her best friend(who worked at the local Wal-Mart) for a double date.
While my date was at work, my buddy and I walked around the store and she would talk to us while she wasn't busy.
We spent about half an hour at the store. We leave to go to his girlfriend's house to wait for my date to finish her shift.
We get in the vehicle, I look down to put the key in the ignition and crank up. When I look up we were surrounded by cops with lights flashing and guns drawn.
I complied with every order, and answered every question asked of me.
When I was finally released hours later, it was with an apology from the Chief of Police.

The thing is.. even if someone is on drugs.. not sure it's a justification to kill them if it's very much avoidable. I am not commenting towards this particular situation! I don't know all the details of all the actions. Just commenting to the notion someone deserves it for being on drugs.
Again, I know not likely.. but they could have been injected with such drugs.. they may even be on prescribed drugs having adverse effects.. Just never know.. which is why I'm trying to pitch my human net idea or cowboy lasso.

Doesn't tell me anything other than the guy likes to get wet.
What does it tell you?
What does it tell you?

From the stills, yes. Unless he broke it open when the helicopter moved to the other side of the vehicle.

Taser him and tackle him. There were 5+ officers there at that point, more than enough to provide cover for one to detain him.

Basically what we agreed to before about acting as if every time you get pulled over, treat it as if you're being held up at gunpoint.
That's exactly what I do and it immediately puts the officer at ease. I've done this my whole life and it has always resulted in good experiences.
You can resist, argue, fight, whatever, but it's not going to end well.

flip the script and make this man some OT'er's white trash cousin from Livingston Parish and a little baggie of weed found in his glove department, this whole thread would be singing a different tune

Here is a quote from the cops lawyer today
quote:
"He has his hands up and is facing the car and looks at Shelby, and his left hand goes through the car window, and that's when she fired her shot," Wood told the Tulsa World for a story published Tuesday.
Trust me on this, the dead man's lawyer just blew them out of the water with the death photo. Guy on the ground, hands still out, and blood smeared all the way down that "open window" and continues down the door.
She had a horrible recollection.

Why taser and tackle and detain when you can just pump a bullet in him from a distance and end his life? Comply Or Die Baw

I don't think anyone is arguing this point. I think the point being made is it's not as simple as a guy walking towards his car with him hands up and he gets shot. There is just more to the story here and people want to rush to judgement on both sides vs. waiting for ALL of the facts to come out.

I don't know that anyone believes that being on drugs should warrant a death sentence. I'm still waiting on all the facts in this situation, because we don't know what happened before back up arrived, and we have no audio to tell us whether he was walking back to his car to retrieve his information or he was not complying. Either way, he absolutely didn't deserve to be shot, but if he was behaving erratically if he was high on PCP, he would have had officers on edge.
I agree though, we need to figure out a way to make sure these situations don't escalate to this point.

We know he wasn't reaching in the vehicle.
