They’re like a 4th of us, so 28 compared to 1000

I can think of a couple differences between us and Germany.

Now compare crime stats, gun ownership, drug use, etc.

Cherry picking stats for direct comparison is very dumb in this instance.

How many confrontations that warranted a weapon to be drawn?

hmmmm

238 whites
113 blacks

But i thought cops were slaughtering unarmed black male at a record pace

I dont seem to recall any protests after any of the whites that have been killed by police but certainly remember a bunch for the blacks.

Seems like the outrage per killing race ratio is slightly skewed

I know the point you're trying to make, but we should probably protest those white deaths better on our end. White people are pretty indifferent, unfortunately.

Why would we protest justified shootings?

It’s amazing how close the numbers are to be honest. Something completely random like that falls so evenly

I’d imagine that completely random is an overstatement. Similar laws, training, procedures, populations

Unless you drastically change use of force policies, or the number of interactions with police- it makes sense that it normalizes with the huge number of interactions in a country in a year.

Surely you don't believe they're all justified, no?

ETA - , nothing but downvotes for suggesting not every killing is justified. This fricking place.

I was asking how many German police officers are killed in the line of duty annually.

Very difficult to find that data. Roughly 50 officers are killed per year in the US since 2005. For Germany to keep the same proportion, they'd need to lose one officer every 3 years.

I'd imagine they lose more than one officer per year, so the fact they only killed 7 people is pretty impressive if that's the case.

It depends who’s opinion you value. I’m sure it’s justified in the police officers mind that pulls the trigger

German police don't likely square off against citizens armed with a gun nearly as often as police in the US do

Sorry you’re ignorant.

Answer this, how many of those are unjustified?

Also tell the folks dealing with police, to stop playing dumb games.
