One thing the politically correct crew at NPR totally avoid mentioning is the attitude toward women in the the muslim culture. Adnan Syed is muslim and was actively involved at the mosque and his parents were strict. He had broken many, many customs to have that relationship with Hae, and she dumped him. That kind of shite does not sit well with the muslim man who is supposed to rule totally and completely over the female's life.
Also, like the person above pointed out, Jay has no motive at all.

This is why unless there is a clear and simple motive (e.g., major gain or avoiding a major loss), it is often a distraction and prone to confirmation and hindsight bias.

What was Jays motive? She keeps saying Adnan's motive was not proven and implying Jay did it, but never giving a motive for Jay.
It's also convenient that 6+ hours of questioning was not recorded between Jay & the two detectives.

Both Jay and Adnan are guilty. The only miscarriage of justice is how Jay stays free and Adnan spends his life in jail.
The smoking gun is Jay knowing where the car with the tools was. My reasoning is that you don't have time to murder someone, drive around with your buddy with the body in the trunk, and then bury her by yourself hours latter.

Not motivated by religion, but by embarrassment. His entire life he'd been taught the man was the ruler. But she broke up with him, and everyone knew it. More cultural than religious.

So what's adnan's status right now?
Posted on 4/8/15 at 3:12 pm to buckeye_vol
Ok, but what is Jay's motive? Why would he kill her?

Who knows? I don't think anybody had much of a motive. Beside, determining a motive is inherently reductionistic and often too easily impacted by cognitive biases. It's often a red-herring.

I'll listen to the last few podcasts before commenting further. I'm on like number 9 or so. But I decided about two episodes ago that Adnan was full of shite.
Maybe he and Jay BOTH did it when they were high as shite, and Jay decided to rat out Adnan and roll on him in a way that minimized Jay's role and got Adnan sent to prison. Adnan cannot roll back on Jay because that just gets them both sent to jail.

You won't listen to anything earth shattering from here on out. The host even says as much.

Adnan is so guilty.
Jay may be too though.

One that stood out is a cell phone call that Urick argued was Adnan checking his voicemail when he was supposed to be at track practice. This was of course evidence that Adnan wasn't at track practice; however, AT&T clearly stated in their records that it was an outside call going to voicemail.
That was just one of the shady behaviors or Urick. He continues to lie about the accuracy of the tower locators.

I am 100% convinced that Jay did it, and that girl he called on Adnan's phone so many times that day helped him dispose of the body.

Lol, this is such awful, prejudice conjecture I'm not even sure where to start.
As someone who has gone back and forth a thousand times on whether I think Adnan did it, I've basically come to a couple conclusions that I think are inarguable:
1. In no way shape or form did they have enough proof to find him guilty. The fact that the entire nation is basically arguing his guilt/innocence at the moment just goes to prove there was way more than reasonable doubt about his involvement.
2. I am 100% sure Jay was involved. I'm not sure in what capacity, but I have absolutely zero doubt he was there at the time of the murder.
Having come to these conclusions it boggles my mind that Jay is free and Adnan isn't. I think the sketchy chick Jay was calling and I think he went to her apartment that day was also involved.
To be honest, I think it might have been someone Jay (a known criminal at this time) was associated with who did it and then Jay had to cover. I still think Adnan doing it and calling his weed guy that he's borderline friends with is the most absurd thing I've ever heard. You fvcking kill someone and you call blood or MAYBE your best friend you've known since birth. I don't think I'd call my gf let alone some stoner.

Jay is definitely more involved than was let on, he was there when it happened imo.
