Hey Guys,
I wanted to update you all on my Mom. Since September, she has had the surgery to fix the issue with the fluid building up in her lungs. That was the weekend of the SC game. Although she was in there longer than expected, it seems the surgery fixed the problem. On her last ct scan, I spoke to her oncologist and he said that the cancer was no better nor no worse. She has continue to receive her chemo, but they dialed it down a bit, since she did get an infection when she was in the hospital. She has been getting blood transfusions as well, since she is anemic, but was so before the chemo. Her, my brother and I were supposed to go the LA Tech game, but she was weak, so she could not make it. She just got another ct scan and again, no better, no worse. I plan on calling her oncologist again after Thanksgiving. We are headed to Gatlinburg, TN and hope my Mom can join my girlfriend and grandmother on the trip. My brother is headed to see her on Tuesday and if she is feeling better, perhaps she can come up for a few days. I continue to pray and that is all I ask of you. I tried to think that the results are good news, as if it was not working, the cancer would be getting worse. The one year mark is April 16 2008, which is what the doctor gave her. I hope the cancer begins to work better, which is all I can do other than praying. Thanks again to all of you and your prayers. It is appreciated.

I wanted to post another update about my Mom, but before I do, thanks again to all of you for your prayers and thoughts. I am confident that it is helping my Mom and my family to get thru this.
Nothing new to report on my Mom, however I did put in a call to her oncologyst this past week and we missed each others calls. I hope she will have a ct scan soon and perhaps the lesions may be getting smaller. I can only hope. My Mom is doing as well as can be expected, she has her good days and bad. I try to do what I can for her, by calling a few times a week, emailing her and sending her cards in the mail to encourage her.
Again, thanks to all of you for your prayers. My family does appreciate it.

I lost my dad last January to liver cancer so I can relate. My advice would be to treat every day like it is your last and spend as much time with your mom as possible. I truly hope she can pull this. Good luck and prayers to you and your family.
