I have a house for sale there in the Broadmoor area, safe and very conveniently located.

I wouldn’t send a kid of mine to Caddo magnet (even though it is good academically) just because it tends to be a weird artsy scene.

There are big issues with city governance and stuff but for the most part if you stick to yourself I think the chance of being the victim of violent crime isn’t super high. You would quickly figure out where not to go at night.

Shreveport and BR are pretty similar despite all of the NLA v SLA pissing matches on here.

I believe that was built by a child of one of the biggest LSU donors of all time, if I’m not mistaken. Not a bad place to set up camp.

I know it’s a lot like living in BR, lots of crime. Although, BR does have some areas that are fine with older homes and pretty safe (relatively speaking) near LSU lakes, Tara, etc. My daughter is moving there in July to start PA school and we are interested in a house bc she has a dog. She has met a couple of other girls who she can room with. Any suggestions on areas would be appreciated. Sorry, no pics. She’s cute though, looks like her dad.

There’s a great place about five and a half hours a little north of there that would be good.

As a rule, I’d stay away from directional streets. Not just Shreveport, either.

This is where we bought a place for our son when he was there. Its safe, gated and was easy to flip when he finished.

Either north bossier, Haughton, or south Shreveport (Ellerbe Rd area). Other than that, good luck and God speed.

False, South Highlands is the nicest part of Shreveport.

I would call the Norris Ferry Rd area the nicest part of Shreveport now. South Highlands is right next door to the ghetto so kind of hit or miss. Fortunately you have easy access to all of Shreveport from Norris Ferry/Flournoy Lucas via the southern extent of I49.

Although there are beautiful old homes in South Highlands I agree with your take.

I love North Bossier and Benton. It's not good for a PA student. It's families. I would look at South Highlands. It's "generally" fine. You will have crime nearby. Sorry, but it comes with the territory. It's probably going to be the most affordable area too.

Anywhere not in or around Shreveport would be a nice area

No it's not. I commute I-20 everyday without problem. The construction added about 5 mins to my commute. And there's always 220.

ETA: Commute is Haughton to downtown Shreveport.

Another choice could be the Springlake area. Some of the prettiest places in Shreveport and very nice

But next door to Cedar Grove.

Benton or south Shreveport like off the southern loop

There a lot of nice apartment complexes off of Clyde fant and fern Ave, makes navigating easy.
