They make the chemicals that go into everything you use. It's a good paying job that OT ballers look down on.....but most probably wish that had that gig.

It's kind of like they fused a state government worker with a union guy. They basically sit around all day watching a computer monitor, cooking jambalaya, determining how many yeti coolers is too many to have, determining when the next volunteer fireman pig roast is, and wondering if their hair dresser baby momma is getting a visit from Jodie while they are sitting on their arse trying not to do any real work.

Exactly what it says: operates the plant. You have inside operators watching all the equipment and making adjustments on control valves. And then you have outside operators who are the eyes, ears, and hands for the inside operators. They monitor the plant, perform tasks, and make adjustments on manual valves. And then there's the worst part, writing permits and preparing equipment to be worked on. That's the part that can easily get you fired and/or sued/arrested.
