That thing was 40 years old. F getting on that thing.
Air Force s regularly flies planes that are up to 62 years old, built in the 50s. Good maintenance and high quality, experienced pilots can keep planes flying for a long long time

there is a huge difference between the professional who flies for a Living and the guy who only goes to football games on weekends.
Father in law, recently retired AF pilot ~40 years, told me he Probably won't fly again since he believes time away is eroding his skills.
I'm sure AF not getting into a plan w a weekend warrior pilot

That is a very long debris field........that seems to indicate a shallow angle of decent
May have been trying to put it down. Overloaded, loss of power on takeoff.

Were they all from the Lafayette area? This is terrible.

Please tell me there were no children aboard?

As others have pointed out, that's at the post office right on the corner of Feu Follet and Verot.
The description of a wooded area is a little misleading, it's literally a a tract of trees 200 ft x 800 ft between the post office and Walmart.

I mean your driving along minding your own business and a plane falls out if the sky, hits your car and you get 100% burns!
