What was Carley's relationship to the business Global Data Systems?

No need for this in the long run. Global Data Sytems is liable and needs to cover every expense and then some.

I was in Trauma when she came in. Had no idea it was that. Just knew it was a bad burn victim.
Shame hope for a full recovery for her.

I wonder wHy Carly was even on that plane???? Very very sad for all involved.i read this morning that it was struggling to take off. I wonder why pilot didn't abort flight. I read that the plane got up to 221 MPH but only got up to 850 ft.

Don't know what happened yet. Sounds like engine failure. Don't know if weather played as factor.

Read the Sports Illustrated link posted on Page 16.
It details why Carley was on that flight.

I read that she didn’t have a ride and her husband was working and couldn’t get off and was offered a seat by Gretchen. Apparently he worked at a nitrogen plant and didn’t have his phone on him and missed her calls and text before they took off.

He heard about it when he was at lunch and he got a call from a family member. They ended having to take him to the hospital to sedate him.

So very sad. Read the SI article the the interview he gave with the SI reporter.

Just saw something a friend reposted on fb. The family of Wade Berzas (the one survivor that sustained 100% burns) is asking people to NOT donate to any gofundmes asking for donations for him. Apparently there is one that was started that was not done by anyone in his family and not approved by the family.

So sad people would try to take advantage of a tragedy like this to scam people out of money.

I heard it was foggy and pilots were told to use gauges.

I can attest it was extremely foggy yesterday morning. I was in a boat in the Basin and couldn’t see 20’ in front of us

If they really only got to around 1000 feet my buddy that’s a professional pilot suggests that’s not enough time to troubleshoot an engine failure which I guess is probably pretty obvious to most people

You have two types of flying conditions. VFR which is visual flight rules, or you can fly with sight.
And
IFR , instrument flight rules, meaning you must be certified to operate under instrument conditions (fly thr gauges)
Anyone flying a turboprop would be an IFR pilot I would assume.
The issue is forced emergency landings require visual references. If the fog was that bad it would be impossible to see power lines and such. Though the attitude indicator will tell you your wing position in reference to the ground.
I was wondering if weather was a factor in the final crash not the cause of the plane going down.
