Friends of the Animals BR is always looking for volunteers. They have 3 different rooms for large, medium, and small (puppies). You can go there, and play with them inside or outside in fenced in properties.

Do not go to a breeder if you are looking for a dog. There are thousands of deserving animals in shelters that need a forever home. Adopt first, don't contribute to puppy mills, and inbreeding.

Or, just don't buy from a puppy mill.
Do your homework, and find a reputable breeder.
If there is a specific breed you want, and would rather adopt, there are a lot of breed specific rescue groups.
