That private business can’t discriminate on who they hire…
Outside of specific protected classes they can.

why do you care if private employers implement vaccine mandates then?
Because it sets a president that businesses can control your personal life. Next they Say you have to covert to Catholicism or you’re fired.
I’m concerned ab the precedent it sets for the future.
Also I am against someone saying put this in your body or lose your livelihood.

UMMC, here in the Jackson area, has required their employees to be vaccinated, or otherwise wear an N95 throughout the day. For a state-ran institution, that is about as stringent as they can get. And that is reasonable. They aren’t requiring the vaccine. They are requiring a certain level of safety within the hospital. All other hospitals are private and are requiring the vaccine. They are free to ask whatever they want of their employees.

In what case can they discriminate….apart from discriminating against the unvaccinated.

The fact that you are asking this question to someone named obtuse1 is absolutely hilarious. This question is the definition of obtuse.

That is reasonable. I would argue they should try to push anyone one way or another on getting the vaccine.
However they are completely within their rights to say wear a mask or stay out. I am 100% sure that 30 years from now I have a 4th testicle growing.

I’m really curious…what would you do if your job issued a mandatory vaccine mandate?
What other freedoms would you give up and what freedom would be the line when you quit?
Did you get the small pox vaccine?
How about the Polio vaccine?
I’ll wait.

Oh no.

businesses can control your personal life.
That is essentially what capitalism is. Businesses control the economy, thus, the way of life.

If a private business feels like that would bring in more money, then by all means, go for it.

So people shouldn't be fired for showing up drunk or high to work then?

Lol this is true.I’m on my phone in bed and I was just responding not even looking at names. But yes…quite absurd.

Practically any reason or they just woke up and decided to fire someone and you are the first one they see when they get to work. Outside of the protected classes they can legally (save for a contract) fire you for anything or no reason at all.

No no it isn’t at all
They provide a good or service. If you like that good or service you cast a vote for that company but buying their product thus keeping them in business. They should have 0 to do with politics.

I’m starting to see the trend is that you are against freedom.

You are against freedom and stupid

And you are legally allowed to take them to court over firing without cause.
Also what does this have to do with forcing employees to make decisions about their health or face termination

I'm against freedom because I think private businesses can manage how they see fit?
There's a trick.

Oh wow, you really have no argument left, do you?
Also, look up precedent vs president.

Damn right you’ll wait…bc I can’t respond instantly lol
I have no idea.
If you haven’t caught on yet or seen that I have said it already but I’ll say it again.
I am not against the vaccine…I am against forcing people to get the vaccine. Really forcing people to do anything they don’t want.

And here the words "defense motion granted" in any employment-at-will state.
You might want to brush up on basic E&L law, I can recommend some casebooks if you are interested.

So there is no line. They can literally do whatever they want. You have to give up your left nut to work here. That’s all good.

I’m aware of the difference there chief, apologies if I made a typo on my phone. Sorry I made you use context clues.

No it isn’t. You literally have a choice everyday, in this country at least. I never once said everyone should get everything they want.
I’m just starting to feel sorry for you if you go through life that cynical
