Does your local Dominoes or Papa Johns have a liquor license by chance?

No idea, I'm not fat so I don't really eat pizza.

oes this money go to the driver? If not what does the money go towards? The driver provides his own car and gas.

When an employee is using their personal vehicle for company business, the company has to reimburse them based on federal mileage rate...which I believe is around 55 cents/mile right now.

The pizza company has to pay the driver an hourly wage.

Company also has to purchase commercial non-owned auto insurance to cover liability for their driver while they're driving to conduct company business.

You are aware (well if you are young, maybe not) there was a big lawsuit in the 1980's that lead Dominoes to drop the "20 min or less" from their advertising. In the early days of pizza delivery cost were saved by a start up like Dominoes by passing insurance costs from the company to the driver personally. Then some high profile wrecks happened and the subsequent lawsuits forced insurance companies to add "pizza delivery" to their questions when obtaining insurance.

Again, completely irrelevant.

As they should as the vehicle is used for a commercial purpose.

The company could just raise prices on the pizza instead of charging a delivery fee.

We all know why they don’t.

Not every order is for delivery. Why would they want to charge the same price for someone who wants to pickup their order at the store?

Also provides insurance for the driver since they are driving on work time.

Well, I mean....if you're having to work 80 hours a week to be a baller..........you're not.

It goes toward the fact that they have to pay the drivers. It costs them money to deliver the pizza to you so they charge you for that service. Pretty simple.

how is it any different than what they pay for the cooks and order takers? most pizza places are in business because of delivery. Dominoes & Papa Johns don't have a dine in option

The level of intellect on this board is staggering.

Anyone making sense of why a place charges for delivery is casting their pearls to swine.
