John Keating was a Cincinnati stonemason, devoted to his children and his neice. Sadly, all three children died in the decade between 1868 and 1878. To commemorate their young lives, Keating carved a dollhouse for their graves. Supposedly, the house, whose interior can be seen through the windows, at one time contained doll furniture.

14 yo me made out with a girl that used herbal essence. There’s a plug scent thing or spray that I get a whiff of every now and then that smells just like it. Great memories from 36 years ago.

Might have to be an old baw/girl who grew up somewhere in South Louisiana to remember this

Amazingly, we may have been thinking about that at the same time. My dad has stories about the Hadacol caravan coming to Tangipahoa, and I've dug up a bunch of old newspaper articles and show ads. I'll see if I have any on this computer to share.
Just minutes ago, while doing a search for the great true statesman, Senator Dudley J. LeBlanc, I came across this picture of John Bel's grandfather on the news of his marriage:
The Edwards family held that job for so many generations that I think different generations of relatives of mine have been arrested by different generations of Edwardses.

Members of the Hadacol Caravan. Front row: Jack Dempsey, Caesar Romero, Railroad Superintendent TA Greison, and Rudy Vallée. Minnie Pearl is standing in center, top row
At various times the Caravan also included Hank Williams, Milton Berle (whom Hank despised so much he said "There like to have been a killing") & even Bob Hope.

That's almost identical to the one I clipped for the Hammond show in '51. It was the S.L.C. stadium.

I laughed pretty good when my dad explained what the secret ingredient was.
