Great photos. My oldest brother is a photographer and location scout in a large metro city on the East Coast. He's got a stable gig currently but I've just always admired his pluck and grit. There's not been much money in his work, but he just loves it.
I fortunately was not a photographer by profession, but just always loved art and images. In college at 18 I bought a Kodak Instamatic pocket camera and started photographing girls I dated. When I graduated the first thing I bought was a state-of-the-art film camera. There is something satisfying about making a image that is more than a simple portrait.
Credit to the model in these images - Susan Abraham, considered the most beautiful model of the 50s. She moved from Connecticut to London to pursue modeling shortly after posing for the first image I posted, and after a few years (and a Vogue cover) she married and retired. This photo was also shot by John French.
<<< There just may be a familial resemblance between her and the young lady in my avatar photo.
