My family never saw any submarine attacks or their aftermath from the beach in FtL. I don’t think any are documented. Mostly, they were north near Jacksonville or south near the Keys or the Bahamas. However, my mom, aunt, uncle and grandmother all told the stories of German uboat guys who surreptitiously came ashore in FtL, went to the movies and were later captured with theater ticket stubs in their pockets.
