1947 - photo of one week's groceries (cost $12.50) for a family of four. Inflation explains the cheap price, but there is a noticeable difference in the food that was purchased versus what would typically purchased today. Because cooking was done from scratch, there was a lot of butter and eggs. She is also apparently baking all the bread.

This woman has more food on her desk for one meal than the 1947 family of four had for a week.

Nothing worse than seeing a woman whose fupa is so big she can't even close her legs.

While not originated by Kafka, this is Kafka's thread. He should get credit for keeping this thread alive with quality photo posts. He posts a wide variety of interesting photos, and unlike the rest of the regular posters, does not necessarily rely on vintage T and A photos.

The M1 Garand is awesome. If you have the means you should get one.

King Tut viewing line at NOMA in ‘77-
Cold as shite the day we went. Cut school to go.
Got interviewed in line by WDSU and the teachers at my school saw the interview on TV in the teacher’s lounge.
I was not busted for skipping due in large part due to being a great kid.

Was the FBI Bldg torn down for the construction of the Pan Am Bldg? (city side of Poydras, between St Charles and Conti)

It was on Girod, it's the US Postal Service Building now, across Girod from the Entergy Tower.
It was pretty much an eyesore... Typical government building.
The New FBI building is on Leon C Simon.
