Those are possums. My uncle had one of these tags on his truck when I was a kid (late 60’s-early 70’s). You can still buy them.

View of the first Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, erected on Christmas Eve, 1931, during the Great Depression one year into the construction of the Rockefeller Center Complex. Construction site workers decided to pool their money together to buy the 20-foot balsam fir, decorating the tree with homemade garlands and strings of cranberries from their families.
