"Oh Jinny, I've longed to tell you how I feel ever since I first saw you, restacking books in New Non Fiction. And when you moved to the Reference desk, taking questions all day from strange men, I realized I had to let you know that... that... I love you!"
"Please Donny, not here in Recent Fiction. Meet me later in the Rebinding Room where we can be alone."

OK I'm in on those sissies. They were probably out shooting unarmed sheep herders in the back.

Middle cop looks like he's carrying an automatic, which would be rare for that time period. Cop on the far right looks like a real scholar.

You are likely correct. It seemed to me that the grip was very straight, which would suggest an automatic. However, in 1964, the odds are against it.
My Dad carried a revolver when he was in Vietnam (USMC pilot). He was not an automatic type of guy LOL.

He was the greatest ballplayer of them all, the towering Sultan of Swat. But by 1948, Babe Ruth had been out of the game for more than a decade and was struggling with terminal cancer.
So when the beloved Bambino stood before a massive crowd on June 13 to help celebrate the silver anniversary of Yankee Stadium—known to all in attendance as the House That Ruth Built—and to retire his No. 3, it was clear this was a final public goodbye.
