Don't think that guy cared then or now. He probably had a number of kill or be killed situations during his time

Sissy my arse son, that saddle ring
1873 Winchester carbine is, at best, a whole year and a half old. It looks 20 years old and probably just lived through the 2nd battle of Adobe Walls against the Commanche and the Kiowa.

The artwork here looks very '60s-esque to me, like something out of Yellow Submarine
I was very surprised to learn it's from 1954
A bio of the artist, Harry Anderson (1911-1972)

Yeah. That face has "sissy" written all over it. I wonder if anybody ever told him that to his face?

Odd, Lily Pons being depicted in a story of crooners. Always thought she was one of those light-operetta types, alongside a few other actresses who dabbled in films, like Grace Moore, Gladys Swarthout and such.
Generally, the crooning style was pretty much considered a male thing anyway. Although sometimes I've heard Ruth Etting considered an equivalent of a crooner, with her classic recording of "Love Me or Leave Me" in 1928, and some similar examples. I can buy that.
