1917

ETA: $2125 was a shitload of money in 1917. I believe the base price for the first Mustang in 1964 was only around $2300

If I was born sooner, Mr. SJ could have got me backstage and met Hendrix.

Jamie L Whitten lock and dam on the Tennessee - Tombigbee waterway. Under construction in 1983. Located near Dennis, MS. Bridge in the foreground, next to the then recently constructed barge ties, was just left and is still currently under water. My dad and mom drove down to that very bridge and one of my oldest memories is standing on that bridge as a child looking at the construction. I rolled a plastic car off of the bridge railing by accident. That’s probably why I remember it.

When I drive up that way with the boat now I make a loop by those barge ties and look east at the boat ramp that was built along that road and then back to the beach built along the other end of that old road and still remember that day in the early 80’s.

Interesting, I have a full set of the Elson Gray Readers that I bought at a school auction. Teachers edition as well.
