Waterbury’s Drug Store on South Rampart & Canal Street, 1955

Anyone recall this place? Or know when it closed?

I’m just catching up on this thread and noticed that I’m not the only one who paid attention to what Corporal Klinger would say on M*A*S*H. Nice memory there, Kafka!

I notice none of them are "plus sized" or "healthy but fat". Those were better times.

From That Touch of Mink, 1962. Cary Grant is super rich and takes wholesome Doris Day to the ballgame and they sit in the dugout with Roger Maris, Mickey Mantle, and Yogi Berra.
Doris Day is ragging the umpire.

Waterbury's Drug Store - This is what I found. It is now Fischer's Jewelry and Loan and their web page says they opened in 1962. Your photo is the Rampart side of the bldg. Was told there was another Waterbury's down at Camp St. that closed in '84. Would like to go back on time and eat at their lunch counter.

In another movie Coburn has a classic line to secretary MM:
"Here"
(hands her a piece of paper)
"Get someone to type this."
