At 1037 Esplanade, New Orleans. One commenter said he thinks this was 1890s. Another said that same pothole is still there.

There is an electric utility and telephone pole in the background. Also, the attire on those people looks early 20th century. I’m guessing just post WW1, but I could definitely be wrong.

My mom has a ton of these style portraits of family in her house. It’s so strange that people didn’t smile back then. Only thing I can think of is they had to stand there for so long to take a photo.

In the Louisiana Digital Library it gives 2 dates, 1880 & 1920. I lean toward 1920.
