Believe it or not. I have a USO costume Dress from WWII... Sequined Unkle Sam style dress. (OR Flag).. Soon to be on a mannequin... No pic at this time. It's in a box...

Ashtrays on the table at a high school prom...
I mean, I know this and remember this kind of thing at my own high school dances in the 1980s, but I also remember pay phones, typewriters, gas station attendants and all.
It's just -- wow-- things ARE so very different today, and things like that little detail make it hit home.

From the National Lampoon’s “High School Yearbook” issue. Lampoon founded by Douglas Kenney who was one of the major wits behind Caddy Shack and Animal House. Played the bit part of Stork in addition to writing the latter. I think that is his high school or college picture in memorium.
